Elizabeth Banks will be the Class of 2025 Commencement Speaker

As the 2025 Commencement ceremony approaches, Penn decides on a speaker.

Elizabeth Banks, American actress, producer, and advocate, will be the Class of 2025 Commencement Speaker. Banks graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996.

Penn President J. Larry Jameson cited her importance as not only a respected performer, director, and producer, but also, an “outspoken advocate for important issues, such as gender equity and health care for veterans.”

Banks will receive an honorary doctor of arts at the Commencement celebration Monday, May 19th on Franklin Field.
